Theatre Company

The Theatre Company extends a warm welcome to students, both on and offstage, providing a platform to cultivate their talents and explore their interests. Renowned for delivering high-quality productions, including the fall play, spring musical, Advanced Acting Production, and Drama Club, our program offers a supportive and nurturing environment through enrichment classes, after school programming, and more. The Sister Caroline Collins, DC, Theater plays a pivotal role in supporting students in tech, featuring a spacious stage and an intimate atmosphere. Here, students are treated as skilled artists, training and performing in an environment mirroring that of professionals. State-of-the-art backstage facilities boast the latest technology, facilitating exceptional onstage performances. The auditorium is equipped with cutting-edge sound and lighting systems, ample storage for set pieces and props, and a soundproof greenroom accommodating over 30 actors for costume changes and rehearsals. These amenities enhance hands-on instruction in acting, production, set design, stage management, and various other tools of the trade.

Our high school theater program stands out for its innovative productions, including the recent production of a world premiere performance of Frankenstein. These groundbreaking performances showcase our commitment to creative and artistic exploration. Moreover, our students have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their craft, with some pursuing theater studies in colleges across the country, a testament to the program's success in nurturing and developing their talents. Notably, a significant portion of our students have been accepted early decision into prestigious institutions, reflecting the program's effectiveness in preparing them for continued success in the world of theater and beyond.

Mr. Spenser Morris currently serves as the Director of Dramatic Arts at Sacred Heart Cathedral. With 15+ years of teaching experience, he is actively engaged in the world of theater not only within SHC but also as a performer and designer in the wider community. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from The Ohio State University and furthered his education with a Master of Arts in Production and Design from Southern Oregon University. After establishing his non-profit Children's Theatre Company, Mr. Morris participated in Teach for America in the Mississippi Delta prior to his move to San Francisco in 2012.
